Interactive Portraits With Dynamic Behavioral Traits

Dynamic Digital Portraits

Hand-painted, generatively assembled portraits that visually morph over time. The first dynamic digital portraits encoded with personality that influences their behavior. Each portrait accumulates ‘glitter’ daily and evolves to its next version after 30 days.

The project tells the story of a complex organism growing all of its many parts against the odds. Like people, GB portraits have many sides and aim to fully express them all. They struggle to grow all of their identities when they can only show one at a time.

Made from 668 hand-drawn elements assembled algorithmically into portraits based on the artist’s composition logic. Over 1,100 portraits created.

Role: founder, concept, artist, computational logic. Collaboration: Harri, Aaron, Nathan, Altay.
